Christmas is a wonderful time of year and ornaments and decorations add to the overall spirit of the season.

Bringing out treasures collected over the years is a ritual repeated in many homes during the holidays. Sometimes a collection starts with one object, like an angel for the mantel or an ornament shaped like an antique car, and the collection just keeps growing. Sometimes it's a tradition begun long ago by someone else and carried on, like collecting hand-made nutcrackers from Austria.

Anything that evokes memories of Christmas past and is likely to be added for Christmas future is a collection.

Above all else, ornament collecting should be fun, so do it for fun before you do it for money.
