Crafty containers to store ornaments safely

The post-holiday packing up of Christmas ornaments and other holiday home decor never is nearly as much fun as the unpacking of those very same baubles several weeks ago.
But you want to do it carefully, so that those precious ornaments, whether they are expensive Christopher Radko glass figurines or Popsicle-stick reindeer made by your first-grader, are in good shape next year.
Here are some tips from www.ornamentbox.com, which makes a handy drawer-style storage box: Never wrap ornaments in plastic; it can cause moisture to collect and feed mildew. Avoid storing ornaments in places where there are temperature extremes, such as hot attics or damp basements. Generally, closets are the best place to store ornaments. Wrap ornaments in acid-free paper or acid-free paper towels, if possible.
